Pastor Jim Bonewald

Pastor Jim has been a very active and energetic in all aspects of church activities since his ordination as Pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church in November of 2006. 

We at Knox feel blessed to have someone as genuine as Jim take over as Pastor of Knox after the retirement of Dr. Bob Bouton.  He has continued our growth as a church as we endeavor to God's work. 

Pastor Jim has kept our old traditions and brought some new ideas and activities to further our spiritual growth.
About Pastor Jim
Jim was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin.  After college, he attended graduate school in New Orleans.  Spending a total of nine years in the "The Big Easy," Jim worked in various administrative capacities in both health care and university settings.  For many of those years, a call to the ordained ministry was the furthest thing from his mind! 
 
In 2002, Jim left New Orleans and returned to the Midwest to attend seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.  While in seminary, he met and married his wife, Lori Wunder who serves as an Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.  He started his pastorate at Knox in September of 2005.  In his spare time he likes to watch movies, blog, work on his photography, and ride his bicycle.
